PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – Aug. 19, 2020 – The Calvert County Department of Parks & Recreation invites residents to the annual Breezy Point Beach Blast-Off to be held Saturday, Sept. 12 from 5:30 p.m. until dark. Dance the night away with music from DJ Keith Hicks, enjoy low-touch games and activities, and cap the night off with a spectacular fireworks show. The free all-ages event is for Calvert County residents only and features something for every member of the family.

Attendees must wear face masks when unable to socially distance themselves from individuals outside of their group. No food vendors will be available and attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnics. No alcohol or glass containers will be permitted.

Pre-registration is required and capacity will be limited to allow for social distancing. Wristbands will be issued to registrants upon entry to the park. To register, visit https://webtrac.co.cal.md.us and use activity number 150001. Campers are advised that park access will be restricted to the camping beach and camping area only during the event.

Breezy Point Beach & Campground is a favorite bay-front park featuring swimming, fishing, picnicking, and seasonal and daily camping. Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of the beautiful public beach and bring the entire family for a fun-filled day. Children will enjoy building sandcastles, playing on the playground, and finding shark teeth along the water’s edge. For fishing and crabbing enthusiasts, there is a 200-foot fishing pier. It is the perfect getaway for day trips, a weekend away, or a weeklong escape. The site is open May 1 through Oct. 31, Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday and holidays 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
