Historic Sotterley will be hosting a brand-new series of community marketplace events celebrating and supporting our local businesses during these challenging times!  Friendly Friday Markets not only will showcase a variety of local vendors each week, but will also have special demos or activities tailored to the theme of the week.  These three Friday markets lead up to our biggest event “The Riverside Community Marketplace” taking place on October 3rd and 4th

First up: Rediscovering Your Roots!  Southern Maryland has its roots in farming,  local waterways, historic trades, and more.  On the first week of Sotterley’s Friendly Friday Markets, celebrate and learn about these traditions with us at Historic Sotterley.  Aside from the regular kaleidoscope of local businesses and vendors who will be on-site with their wares, there will be exhibits, demos and activities which allow us to connect us with the past.  Please check the Sotterley website as we get  closer to the event for a full listing of vendors and activities for the day.

To provide additional support our community, Historic Sotterley will gratefully accept donations of non-perishable food and produce from your garden or farm at the Markets.  Sotterley currently donates produce grown on site to help those in need through its Growing for Good program.  Your generous donations will help us make a greater impact together!  This week‘s recipient will be St. Mary’s Caring.

While it is easy to social distance at Historic Sotterley, we require that masks be worn for the safety of our guests, vendors, staff and volunteers.

Join us to celebrate what makes our community such a special place!
