LANCASTER, Pa. – Sophomores Anna Kidd (Arbutus, Md./Mount de Sales) and Sam Shenot (Upper Marlboro, Md./Leonardtown) were both honored by the Atlantic East Conference with selections to the Women’s and Men’s Swimming Weekly Honor Rolls as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Kidd continued her strong sophomore campaign with three golds this past Saturday as the St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s swim team wrapped up a perfect 6-0 Atlantic East season. She anchored the winning 200 medley relay before capturing the 200 freestyle (2:02.77) and the 100 freestyle (56.12). Kidd could’ve had four golds as she claimed first place in the 200 IM (2:18.74) but St. Mary’s College swam the event as an exhibition.
Shenot helped the Seahawks men’s swim team to a win in their final Atlantic East dual meet of the season as he won a pair of individual events and swam the third leg of the winning 200 medley relay. He captured both the 200 butterfly (2:13.76) and the 100 butterfly (59.15)
St. Mary’s College will be back in action this Saturday, January 22, as the Seahawks travel to Salisbury, Md., to take on Salisbury University at 1:00 p.m. in a non-conference dual meet for SMCM’s regular-season finale.
