The 11th Annual Pink and Blue Memorial Tournament was held on October 11 at The Cannon Club in Lothian, MD. This year’s tournament celebrated the life of Anthony Williams and raised $45,000 for the CalvertHealth Foundation to invest in the latest breast cancer and prostate cancer treatment and equipment.

Since the event began in 2010, the tournament has raised more than $400,000 benefitting CalvertHealth and Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Members of the Pink and Blue Committee joined CalvertHealth staff to present a check from their annual golf tournament. “Giving back to the community in honor of friends we have lost means everything to the Pink and Blue Committee,” said Dr. Duncan Frazer, Pink and Blue Committee Co-Chair. “We all know people who have been touched by cancer and we want to honor their memory by giving back to our local hospital’s cancer treatment facilities.”

In the past, proceeds from the Pink and Blue tournament have helped CalvertHealth expand patient education, the nurse navigation program, and purchase equipment related to treating breast cancer, prostate cancer, and genetic testing.

This year, the donated proceeds will benefit the CalvertHealth’s Giving for Gifted Hands Campaign, a $2.5 million multifaceted project to expand surgical services and provide our patients and our community with access to the most advanced surgical options – close to home.
