ROCHESTER, NY – Ethan Carpenter traveled to Rochester, New York this weekend to represent St. Mary’s in the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference Championships. Carpenter qualified for the AARTFC championships earlier this season with a 15.20m weight throw during the Patriot Games at George Mason University.

How it Happened
- Ethan Carpenter competed against 29 other athletes in the weight throw today. Carpenter finished in 27th place for the Seahawks, throwing a distance of 12.61 meters. Today’s performance was Carpenter’s shortest throw of the season with his second and third attempt throws being disqualified as well. Of the 29 competitors, three athletes were disqualified from the event, sitting Carpenter in last place.
- Carnegie Mellon University took home first place with a distance of 18.93 meters. Ithaca College secured second place with a throw of 18.76 meters while Stockton University clinched third at 17.96 meters.

Today’s competition officially closes St. Mary’s indoor track and field season. The Men’s and Women’s teams now prepare for their outdoor season. The Seahawk’s first competition will take place on March 18th and 19th at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. The meet will take place in Myrtle Beach, SC at the Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
