UPDATE 11/5/2022 @:00 p.m.- On November 4, shortly before 4 p.m., officers responded to the 3000 block of Wildflower Drive in La Plata for the report of a shooting. Officers with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office and The La Plata Police Department arrived and located the homeowner at the front door and advised he had returned home from work and discovered five persons deceased in the house.

Officers entered and located two women and three men with trauma to their bodies.

A preliminary investigation revealed the suspect, Andre Sales, 28, who resides at a different residence, entered the house and killed his ex-girlfriend, Sara Mann, 21; her brother, Kai Mann, 18; their mother, Sommaly Mann, 48; and another male who was inside, Javon Watson, 23 of White Plains. Sales then shot himself with a gun, which was recovered.

Two young children were initially unaccounted for, but they were located a short time later, safe and unharmed, at a different location. Investigators and forensic personnel are still processing evidence and interviewing family and friends to establish a motive.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore will perform autopsies to confirm each person’s exact cause of death.

UPDATE 8:15 p.m.- Charles County Sheriff’s Office has posted that at around 4 p.m., they responded to a shooting report at the address on Wildflower Drive. the homeowner had returned home and found five deceased individuals.

Police believe all the individuals are adults but are awaiting identification and confirmation. And also to establish the relationship between the individuals.

The police believe the incident is isolated to the residence at this time.

Updates will be provided as more information is confirmed.

UPDATE 7:00 p.m.– The Charles County Sheriff’s Office says the homeowner returned this afternoon and found five deceased adults. No cause of death has been released.

Police initially reported this as a shooting.

We will bring you updates as we receive more confirmed information.

UPDATE 5:24 p.m.- Multiple sheriff’s and unmarked cars are currently on Wildflower Drive along with a Forensics van. Yellow police tape is around the entire home.

La Plata, MD(5:00 p.m.)- The Charles County Sheriff’s Office is on the scene of a shooting on the 3000 block of Wildflower Drive in La Plata, MD.

The Sheriff’s Office’s initial report says a shooting occurred in the home. The scene is contained according to the Facebook post.

There are no further details at this time. the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer is on her way to the scene, and more information will be released.
