Collegeville, PA – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland Men’s Indoor Track and Field team made a significant impact at the Frank Colden Invitational held in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, showcasing a series of record-breaking performances among a competitive field that included host Ursinus College among six participating teams.
Ty Tindal emerged as a standout athlete for the Seahawks, breaking three school records in a single meet. Tindal’s exceptional talent was on display as he set new benchmarks in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.89, long jump with a leap of 6.48 meters, and the indoor pentathlon, amassing 2935 points. These achievements underscore the high performance and dedication Tindal brings to the team.

The Seahawks also saw impressive performances in the sprints and middle-distance events. Collin Fitzgerald earned a commendable eighth place in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at 23.49, with teammates Emmanuel Douge, Mason Layne, and Jaedon Aso also showcasing their speed in the event. Layne secured the 16th position in the 400-meter run, joined by Fitzgerald, Douge, Zane Obi, and Ivan Obuekwe in a show of team depth and versatility.
Michael Wade stood out in the middle-distance events by placing second overall and setting a new school record in the 1000-meter run with a remarkable time of 2:44.91. His teammates, Bryce Webster and Markell Blake, also delivered strong performances, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively. Quentin Pastore and Noah Fisher demonstrated their endurance in the 1-mile and 3000-meter runs, with Pastore finishing 11th and Fisher 16th in their respective events.
In the field events, Zack Kralec finished second in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.95 meters, further adding to the Seahawks’ medal tally for the day.
A highlight for the team was the 4×200 relay, where Mason Layne, Emmanuel Douge, Collin Fitzgerald, and Dominant Turner combined forces to break the school record with a time of 1:39.07, showcasing the strength and cohesion of St. Mary’s relay teams.
Looking ahead, the Seahawks are gearing up for their next challenge as they travel to Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, for the SU Tune-Up Meet hosted by Susquehanna University on February 17th. This upcoming meet will offer another opportunity for St. Mary’s athletes to test their limits, refine their skills, and continue their impressive start to the season.
