COLLEGEVILLE, PA – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s indoor track and field team made a significant impact at the Frank Colden Invitational held in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, showcasing a series of record-breaking performances and strong finishes among the six teams competing. The event saw athletes from St. Mary’s College, including the host Ursinus College, push their limits in a display of athletic prowess and determination.
Highlighting the meet, Chay’la Rivers shattered the school record for the Indoor Pentathlon, amassing a remarkable 1756 points. This achievement underscores the depth of talent within the team and sets a new benchmark for future athletes.

Brittney Douglas also left her mark by breaking her previously held school record in the 800-meter run with a stellar time of 2:29.20, earning her fifth place overall. Douglas’s performance exemplifies the dedication to improvement and excellence that characterizes St. Mary’s College athletes.
In the 1000-meter run, Alexis Hodges secured sixth place at 4:12.83, demonstrating the team’s competitive edge in middle-distance events. Meanwhile, Kaylee Holston and Ariana Lecouras showed their prowess in the 1-mile run, finishing 15th and 19th, respectively, with Holston clocking in at 6:07.70 and Lecouras at 6:20.91.
The long-distance events saw Weiya Carter finishing seventh in the 3000-meter run at 12:42.83. Betsy Robey and Madison Kingsley also made notable contributions in the 5000-meter run, with Robey earning 11th place at 20:34.39 and Kingsley close behind.
In field events, Jillian Zukley achieved fifth place in the Shot Put with a throw of 11.11 meters, while Fladaina Bruno and Nayev Pumphrey competed valiantly in the same event. Bruno and Zukley continued their success in the Weight Throw, placing 12th and 15th, respectively.
The team’s collective effort was further highlighted in the 4×400 meter relay, where they clinched sixth place at 4:44.93, showcasing the depth and versatility of the team across various disciplines.
Looking ahead, the Seahawks are gearing up for their next challenge as they travel to Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, for the SU Tune-Up Meet hosted by Susquehanna University on February 17th. This upcoming event will offer another opportunity for the athletes to test their mettle, refine their skills, and build on their successes as they continue their indoor track and field season.
