WALDORF, MD — A fire incident was reported late Saturday evening at a property located at 1042 Dorset Drive in Waldorf, Charles County, Maryland, causing minimal damage and no injuries, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
The Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene after the fire was discovered by an occupant of the home, managing to control the blaze within 10 minutes. The incident, which involved a shed owned by AMT6, LLC, resulted in an estimated $500 loss, including both the structure and its contents.
Authorities confirmed that there were no smoke alarms or fire sprinkler systems installed in the shed. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, with the exterior of the shed being identified as the area of origin.
Despite the potential for greater damage, the quick response by the fire department prevented the fire from spreading beyond the shed. “There were no injuries as a result of the fire,” stated the fire marshal’s office, highlighting the fortunate outcome in this event.
The incident drew a modest response from the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department, with 10 firefighters attending the scene. Their swift action limited the damage and ensured the safety of nearby residents.
At this stage, the fire marshal’s office has not reported any arrests related to the incident.
