ANNAPOLIS JUNCTION, MD — A road rage confrontation that escalated into gunfire on the evening of March 8, 2024, has led to the arrest of a Waldorf woman, authorities reported. The incident, which took place on a ramp leading from Route 32 East onto the Baltimore Washington Parkway South, did not result in any injuries, although shots were fired.

According to police, the conflict involved two women who were acquainted with each other and stemmed from a previous encounter. Their vehicles collided on the ramp from eastbound Route 32 to southbound Baltimore Washington Parkway, leading to a heated argument. The situation escalated when one of the women, identified as 24-year-old Tawana Amari Watkins, discharged a firearm at the front of the other’s vehicle, a 2002 Honda Civic, as she was attempting to re-enter her car. Watkins then fled the scene in a white Hyundai.

The Western District detectives, who are currently investigating the incident, issued an arrest warrant for Watkins on the day of the altercation. She was apprehended by the Charles County Sheriff’s Office on March 11, 2024. Authorities have yet to disclose the charges Watkins faces.
