In a significant operation initiated by the Anne Arundel County Child Abuse Unit on January 11, 2024, a Maryland man has been charged with multiple counts of possession of child pornography. The investigation began following a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), a leading non-profit organization dedicated to the protection of children. NCMEC’s report pinpointed a specific account responsible for uploading child pornographic images to an online platform, triggering law enforcement’s swift response.

Through detailed investigation and execution of several court orders, detectives pinpointed the source of the illicit activities to a residence on Match Point Drive in Arnold, Maryland. On February 2, 2024, a search warrant was carried out at the identified address. The operation led to the seizure of multiple digital devices, which were secured for further forensic analysis.

The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Michael Stuart Hislop of Arnold, Maryland, was found on the premises during the search. Subsequent examination confirmed that the digital storage account involved in the upload of the offending material was registered to Hislop. This evidence facilitated the procurement of an arrest warrant for Hislop, culminating in his arrest on March 19, 2024. He now faces 16 counts of possession of child pornography.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department has taken a firm stance on the matter, emphasizing the importance of community assistance in such investigations. Authorities have made a public appeal for anyone with additional information related to the incident or the suspect to come forward. Contact can be made directly with the Anne Arundel County Child Abuse Unit or through anonymous channels such as the county’s tip line and Metro Crime Stoppers.
