The match started with an early lead by the Seahawks, thanks to senior captain Johnny McGrain’s goal just 49 seconds in. However, Messiah quickly took control, leading at various points throughout the game. The turning point came in the final quarter when St. Mary’s College, trailing by two goals at the start, dominated the play. The Seahawks’ offensive onslaught, coupled with a robust defense, saw them outshooting the Falcons 47-39 and securing a significant advantage in ground balls, 39-23.

Key performances came from several Seahawks players. Junior attackman Keegan Preis had a standout game, contributing six assists and eight points, tying his career-high of two goals. Joshua Martel, a sophomore attackman, added four goals and two assists, reaching season-highs in points. McGrain and junior attackman Aiden Doyle also made substantial contributions, each scoring four goals and adding an assist. On the defensive end, senior defenseman Brandon Dabkowski led with four ground balls and three caused turnovers.

For Messiah, Chad Teresky and Bobby Berg were the top scorers, with six goals each. Despite their efforts and a combined 10 saves from their goalies, the Falcons’ four-game win streak came to an end.

The Seahawks’ remarkable comeback not only showcased their resilience and tactical prowess but also highlighted their potential as serious contenders as they head into their next game against Rosemont on March 27.
