DAHLGREN, Va. – The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) announced it will extend its operational testing hours from April 15 through April 26, conducting tests from 8 a.m. to midnight on weekdays. The division will also engage in continuous testing from Saturday, April 20 at 8 a.m. until Sunday, April 21 at 3 p.m.
Residents in the vicinity of the Naval Surface Facility (NSF) Dahlgren may notice increased noise levels due to these activities. Additionally, access to certain areas such as the NSF Dahlgren pier, Upper Machodoc Creek, and the Potomac River Middle Danger Zone will be intermittently restricted. These areas are regulated under 33 CFR 334.230, which describes the conditions and restrictions applicable during such testing periods.
NSWCDD is a key component of the Navy’s warfare system delivery framework, dedicated to ensuring national security and technological superiority. The division’s motto, “No peers, no fears,” underscores its commitment to maintaining an edge over potential adversaries.
