BOWIE, M.D. — The Bowie Baysox, Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, showcased their offensive prowess in a 17-1 thrashing of the Akron RubberDucks on Tuesday night at Prince George’s Stadium.

With the victory, Bowie improved their record to 15-12, recording one of their most significant wins of the season. The team unleashed a powerful display at the plate, amassing 13 hits that included three home runs. Outfielder Jud Fabian stood out with two home runs, marking the first multi-home run game of his career.

The game started aggressively with the Baysox making their intentions clear early on. Samuel Basallo hit a double to open the first inning, followed by Orioles outfielder Austin Hays, who is on a Major League rehab assignment, hitting a two-run homer to give Bowie an early lead. Hays concluded his performance going 2-for-3 with a walk and a single in addition to his home run.

The turning point came in the fourth inning when Bowie exploded for eight runs, their biggest inning of the season. They capitalized on two Akron errors and five walks during the inning. Infielder Anthony Servideo delivered a critical double, driving in two runs and contributing to the Baysox’s commanding lead.

Continuing their offensive onslaught, Bowie added four more runs in the fifth inning. Outfielder Dylan Beavers and Fabian, with a 419-foot three-run homer, were pivotal in extending the lead. Fabian later added a two-run homer in the seventh inning, capping off a remarkable night with his second four-hit game of the season.

TT Bowens, the designated hitter, continued his strong performance, extending his team-best hitting streak to nine games with three hits and a pair of RBIs.

On the mound, right-hander Alex Pham earned his first Double-A victory, allowing only one hit and no walks over five innings while matching his season-high of six strikeouts. In contrast, Akron’s starter Jordan Jones suffered the loss, giving up a significant lead as his team struggled to find form after winning 12 of their previous 13 games.

The series continues with a midday game on Wednesday, as Bowie looks to maintain their momentum. Right-hander Ryan Long is set to pitch for Bowie against Akron’s Aaron Davenport in what promises to be an intriguing matchup.
