The Anne Arundel County Board of Education is inviting residents to apply for 16 vacancies on the Executive Committee of its Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC). This 34-member panel offers crucial input and advice on educational issues across the county.
The CAC is composed of representatives from each of the county’s 14 high school clusters, with each cluster having one representative for elementary schools and one for secondary schools. Additionally, the committee includes two at-large representatives, a military representative, and three representatives appointed by other parent groups within the county. All members must be residents of Anne Arundel County. They serve two-year terms with the possibility of a third year if reapproved by the Board.

The application form can be accessed here and must be submitted to the Board of Education by 4 p.m. on May 31, 2024. The Board will appoint the new representatives in a subsequent meeting.
The CAC is required to meet at least four times a year but typically convenes seven times annually. Meetings are generally held at the Parham Building, located at 2644 Riva Road in Annapolis. Both the meetings and membership in the CAC are open to all residents, irrespective of whether they have children enrolled in Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS).
