ANNAPOLIS, Md. — On May 11, approximately 300 guests gathered at the Fluegel Alumni Center to celebrate Hospice of the Chesapeake’s 45th anniversary. The event, which commemorated the organization’s extensive history of compassionate care, successfully raised $500,000. These funds will support hospice, supportive, and grief care services for patients and families across Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, and Prince George’s counties.
Attendees enjoyed a warm evening both indoors and outdoors at the scenic College Creek venue in Annapolis. The event featured cocktails and a delectable spread provided by Main & Market, complemented by a silent auction. Volunteers shared insights about the diverse range of programs that Hospice of the Chesapeake offers to the community.

One of the most poignant moments of the evening was when Jeanne Morris and Bridget Stockdale shared their personal experiences with the hospice care provided to their late husband and father, obstetrician Dr. E. Joseph “Dr. Joe” Morris, MD. Their heartfelt testimony highlighted the compassionate and tender care they received, moving many in the audience. Further details of their story can be found here.
Hospice of the Chesapeake holds the distinction of being the largest independent not-for-profit hospice provider in Maryland. The organization expressed deep gratitude for the generous support from numerous sponsors who made the event possible.
