St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s lacrosse team celebrated as three of its players were named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-America Teams. The announcement came from the USILA on Thursday morning, May 23.
For the second year in a row, senior Ethan Little and juniors Quinnten Hatfield and Keegan Preis earned Honorable Mention accolades. This marks a significant achievement for the players and the program, as it brings the total number of All-America recognitions for St. Mary’s men’s lacrosse to 24. This also ties the program’s record of three selections, first set in 2006 and matched in 2023.

Head Coach Jason Childs, in his ninth year with the Seahawks, expressed pride in his players. “What a tremendous honor to be named as an All-American. There is so much effort and work that goes into something like this,” Childs said.
Ethan Little capped his college lacrosse career with notable achievements, being a two-time Honorable Mention USILA All-American and back-to-back United East Conference Defensive Player of the Year for 2023 and 2024. Additionally, he has been a consistent performer in the United East, earning All-Conference honors three times, with First Team selections in 2022 and 2024. Little, a 6-0 defenseman, was pivotal in his team’s defense with 59 ground balls and 25 caused turnovers, ranking fifth in the conference for caused turnovers. Offensively, he contributed with four goals and five assists.
Quinnten Hatfield, a 6-4 short-stick midfielder, also earned recognition as a two-time All-United East selection, making the First Team in 2023 and the Second Team this season. He was essential in the midfield with 51 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers, the third and fourth best on the team, respectively. Hatfield also achieved a personal milestone with a career-best seven goals and one assist this season.
Keegan Preis, a 6-0 attackman, distinguished himself as a prolific playmaker, leading the conference with 59 assists and contributing 17 goals for a total of 76 points. His performance placed him 14th in Division III for assists per game, with an average of 2.81. Preis has been a consistent top performer, earning First Team All-United East in 2023 and Second Team in 2024. In 2023, he was named the United East Offensive Player of the Year.
The 2024 season was remarkable for the Seahawks, with a 14-7 record and a second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Championship Tournament, where they advanced to the second round for the second year in a row. The team also secured its third consecutive United East Tournament championship and its second straight regular-season conference title.
The St. Mary’s lacrosse team continues to build on its legacy, with these latest All-America honors underscoring the hard work and talent present within the program.
