Recovery Centers of America (RCA) Capital Region hosted its fourth annual Memorial Day Speaker Jam on Saturday, May 25, 2024, with the help of local and state government partners.
The event in Waldorf, Maryland, brought together nearly 200 guests to celebrate recovery with speakers from RCA, families, neighbors, and patients. The day included food and a presentation by keynote speaker Allison Budd, an RCA alumna who has been in recovery for two years.

Soren Karlsson, another RCA alumnus with four years of recovery, and Elijah Maassen, alumni coordinator of RCA at Bracebridge Hall, also spoke during the event. Maassen has helped lead recovery efforts for over 10 years.
The Charles County Health Department distributed overdose drug Narcan to guests, while local organizations The Jude House and Utopia Health Center provided information and resources.
