Several respected community figures have recently been appointed to significant roles at Hospice of the Chesapeake and its foundation, aiming to enhance the organization’s mission in Maryland. Joyce Phillip, a seasoned human resources professional, has been elected to the Hospice of the Chesapeake Inc. Board, marking her return after serving from 2014 to 2023.
Joining Phillip, the Hospice of the Chesapeake Foundation Board welcomes three new members: Brandon Temple, a transitioning Air Force Special Warfare Officer and Chairman of the Calvert County Veterans Affairs Commission; Mark Frazer, a local dentist with a longstanding practice in Calvert County; and Scott Douglas, a principal at his commercial real estate firm and an active community volunteer.
Leadership roles within the boards have also been assigned. The Inc. Board’s officers for the current term include Nancy Smit as Chair, Richard Wilder as Vice-Chair, Albert Zanger as Treasurer, Tricia Lehmann as Secretary, and David Weng as Member-at-Large. Meanwhile, the Foundation Board appointed Mary Frances Isakov as Chair, Elizabeth Freedlander as Vice-Chair, Amy Castleberry as Treasurer, and Peggy McKelly as Secretary.
Furthermore, in recognition of their lasting contributions, Brian Gibbons and William Lovelace have been granted emeritus status on the Inc. and Foundation Boards, respectively.
Hospice of the Chesapeake, based in Pasadena, Maryland, operates as the largest independent non-profit hospice in the state, offering a variety of care services to residents across Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, and Prince George’s counties.
