WALDORF, MD — Two suspects have been arrested in a carjacking and armed robbery that took place at St. Charles High School in March, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office. The suspects, identified as 19-year-old Martino Marcus Young from Southeast Washington D.C., and a 17-year-old male from Waldorf, are facing multiple charges including armed carjacking and robbery.

The incident unfolded on March 6, when two students were assaulted in the school’s parking lot. The perpetrators then stole a car belonging to one of the victims and fled the scene. Following an investigation led by detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division and a school resource officer, leads pointed to Young and the juvenile as the primary suspects.

Earlier this month, the case was presented to a Charles County Grand Jury, resulting in indictments for armed carjacking, armed robbery, and firearms violations among other charges. Arrest warrants were subsequently issued. With the cooperation of the CCSO Warrant Fugitive Unit and the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Task Force, both suspects were apprehended on July 24.

Evidence linking the suspects to the crime was uncovered during the execution of search warrants. The juvenile has been charged as an adult and is currently held at the Charles County Detention Center. Young was initially detained in Washington, D.C., and has since been extradited to Charles County, where he awaits a bond review.
