In a nail-biting showdown at Prince George’s Stadium on Tuesday night, the Bowie Baysox, the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, emerged victorious with a 5-3 win against the Harrisburg Senators, the Washington Nationals’ Double-A team. This victory was highlighted by standout performances from several Baysox players, contributing to the team’s dynamic season.

The game commenced with Jud Fabian, the Orioles’ No. 8 prospect, delivering a significant impact by hitting a leadoff solo homer, marking his 17th of the season. This shot not only opened the scoring but also confirmed his lead in the Eastern League and his fourth-place tie in all of Double-A for home runs. Shortly after, Dylan Beavers, another key player and the Orioles’ No. 6 prospect, followed suit with his 12th homer of the season off Senators’ pitcher Chase Solesky, who suffered his fourth loss of the season.

Fabian continued to shine throughout the game, driving in the third and fourth runs for Bowie with RBI singles in the second and fourth innings. His contributions were pivotal, marking his fourth game this season with at least three RBIs. On the mound, Bowie’s starting pitcher Peter Van Loon showcased a strong performance, throwing five scoreless innings and striking out six, securing his first win of the season.

The Senators attempted a comeback in the ninth inning, managing to put three runs on the board. However, their effort fell short when Bowie’s closer, Houston Roth, ended the game by striking out Cody Wilson with bases loaded, sealing the win for the Baysox.

The series continues with the teams meeting again on Wednesday at 6:35 pm at Prince George’s Stadium. The matchup will feature RHP Alex Pham for Bowie against LHP Dustin Saenz for Harrisburg. The Baysox are also hosting several special events this week, including Woof Wednesday, an Intern Takeover Series, and various themed nights offering live music, giveaways, and postgame fireworks.
