In a harrowing early morning incident, deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to a stabbing attack in the 21000 block of Ronald Drive, reported at about 4:45 a.m. on August 3, 2024. Two women were violently stabbed by an assailant identified as Terek Demaury Ross, 28, from Prince George’s County.
Authorities were alerted to the situation when the first victim, an adult female, managed to break free from the attack, fleeing the scene to call 911 after being stabbed multiple times. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the assailant, Ross, then turned on a second adult female, repeating the brutal attack before she too escaped to a neighbor’s home to seek help.
After the assaults, Ross reportedly stole a car belonging to one of the victims and fled the scene. His attempt to escape led him north on Maryland Route 4, where the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) apprehended him without further incident.
Both victims were quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where they are currently listed in stable condition, recovering from multiple stab wounds.
Ross faces serious charges following his arrest, including two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and additional related charges. He has been detained at the Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown pending further legal proceedings.
