EDGEWATER, MD – A woman was pronounced dead and a man critically injured following a stabbing incident in an Edgewater apartment on Friday, authorities reported. The Anne Arundel County Police Department responded to a distress call around 5:00 p.m. in the unit block of South River S.

Upon arrival, officers discovered 47-year-old Nancianne S Houston of Edgewater deceased at the scene. She suffered fatal stab wounds during what investigators believe was a domestic altercation. Nearby, a 58-year-old male was found with severe stab injuries to his upper body and an extremity. He was promptly transported to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, facing life-threatening conditions.

Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation, which remains active and ongoing. Early findings suggest that the male and female victims knew each other and that an argument escalated into the deadly conflict.
