
In a chilling incident, a Charles County man was arrested and charged with multiple felonies, including first-degree rape and assault, following a sexual attack on a house cleaner. The Charles County Sheriff’s Office reported that the assault occurred around 7:25 p.m. on August 9 at a residence located in the 7300 block of Tottenham Drive in White Plains.
According to the authorities, the victim, who was working inside the home, was approached by the resident, Jordan Keith Proctor, 29. Proctor allegedly brandished a firearm, threatened to shoot her, and forcibly handcuffed her. The sheriff’s office detailed that Proctor sexually assaulted and repeatedly beat the victim over several hours.
The ordeal ended when the victim was released and immediately called 911. Responding officers soon arrived at the scene, and Proctor was apprehended shortly after exiting the residence. A subsequent search of the house led to the recovery of critical evidence, including the firearm used in the crime.
The victim was swiftly transported to a hospital where she received treatment for multiple injuries, including a possibly fractured jaw, highlighting the severity of the assault.
Proctor faces charges of first-degree rape, first-degree assault, several sex offenses, false imprisonment, and the use of a firearm during a violent crime. In a controversial decision, a judge ordered his release from the Charles County Detention Center on August 12, subject to electronic monitoring.
The case has been handed over to Detective Singh for further investigation, as the community reels from the shocking event and its aftermath.
