St. Mary’s Little League (SMLL) is gearing up for its first-ever Banana Ball Bash, an event promising a day filled with sports excitement and community fun. Sponsored by Bay State Contracting LLC, the event will unfold on Saturday, October 5th, at Chancellor’s Run Regional Park.
The festivities are set to begin at 3:00 PM with a Home Run Derby featuring young sluggers from the Minors and Majors Baseball and Softball divisions. Spectators can expect an impressive display of hitting as players vie for the title of Home Run Champion.
At 4:30 PM, the action continues with the Banana Softball game, where twenty-eight players from the Junior and Senior Softball divisions will split into two teams. The game will be played under special rules inspired by those used by the Savannah Bananas, adding a unique twist to the competition.
The sports-packed day will peak with the Banana Baseball game at 7:00 PM. Like the softball game, this event will feature twenty-eight players from the Junior and Senior Baseball divisions who will take to the diamond under the entertaining Banana Ball rules.
Adding to the day’s enjoyment, younger league members from the Coach Pitch, Pony, and T-Ball divisions will perform during inning breaks, ensuring continuous entertainment. A selection of food trucks will also be available to keep attendees well-fed throughout the event.
