One of Maryland’s most successful and awaited Festivals will be changing venues by migrating north to the Town of North Beach in Spring 2025 https://www.northbeachmd.org
The Maryland Osprey and Nature Festival, or MONF www.marylandospreyfestival.org as is affectionally called, will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M.

“We are absolutely thrilled that the Town of North Beach has partnered with our Festival. The venue is next level as we share our love for Chesapeake regional birds of prey. The North Beach, boardwalk, nature center, parks, and the gorgeous new library will attract nature lovers, bird enthusiasts, and families to our wonderful event. North Beach is an ideal venue.” said, Chris McNelis who oversees strategy and growth for MONF.
“The educational presentations were highly informative and explained why the ospreys are on the decline; it was a wakeup call for us, and a call to action. We are also bringing the grandkids next year.” stated, Bobby and Sharon Shifftlett who attended the festival this past year.
Children are the cornerstone of the Maryland Osprey and Nature Festival. Engaging children in the natural world has a powerful, positive impact on the health and well-being of children and our planet. Creating fun and interesting opportunities for children, in nature, that foster awareness about the natural world and help them connect to their environment exemplifies our mission of education, conservation, and celebration.
Children and adults who attend our festival will enjoy guest speakers from the Department of Natural Resources, see live raptors and other birds, enjoy a scavenger hunt, create crafts, face painting, create family memories, explore North Beach and meet new friends.” said, Alisa Anania, director of children’s activities for MONF.
“Last year, MONF donated more than $5k to non-profit organizations: Calvert Nature Society, Owl Moon Raptor Center, and Phoenix Wildlife Center.” said, Sal Icaza who handles MONF’s fund-raising. We are an all-volunteer group committed to serving our community. All our Bird of Directors are amazing. We are so pleased at the support that we have received from the citizens and officials of North Beach, starting with Mayor Benton. It is going to be a great Festival.” concluded, Icaza.
This Festival was created by the citizens of the Mid-Atlantic region to celebrate our charismatic Ospreys, to educate the public, agencies, and owners of structures to foster an attitude of co-existence and conservation awareness throughout the Chesapeake Bay and its estuaries.
Proceeds from the Festival go to non-profit organizations who have a vested interest in protecting and conserving Ospreys, Bald Eagles, other wildlife, and natural areas. The support and collaboration of our local government, statewide conservation and wildlife rehabilitation agencies, local and international businesses, and military community share our goals and mission: Education.Conservation.Celebration. of our beautiful surroundings, and nature, and wildlife.
If you love birds, wildlife, and nature, or just want to learn more, please come out and be a part of this wonderful Festival for a great cause. It is an event for the entire family and people of all ages. See a live raptor up close, expert key-note presentations, enjoy live music, meet Oscar the Osprey, get a selfie, and move through the nature activity stations.
