The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) has announced a new partnership with Toys“R”Us for the 2024 holiday season, aimed at expanding the reach and impact of the beloved USPS Operation Santa program. The collaboration between the two iconic American brands is expected to make it easier for families and individuals to participate in the program, which helps fulfill holiday wishes for children and families in need.

USPS Operation Santa, a program that has been operating for over a century, allows people across the U.S. to adopt letters to Santa Claus and help make the holiday season special for those in need. The program officially began accepting letters for the 2024 season on September 16. Children and families are encouraged to write to Santa, sharing their holiday hopes and dreams.

Through the new partnership with Toys“R”Us, those who adopt letters can now easily purchase gifts from a specially curated online store, simplifying the process of gift-giving and ensuring that children receive meaningful presents during the holiday season.

“Delivering holiday joy has never been easier,” said Sheila Holman, USPS marketing vice president. “And our partnership with Toys“R”Us is just the beginning. This year, we’re excited to offer a curated selection of toys and playthings, and next year, we’ll be expanding to include clothing, shoes, books and more. Our goal is to make it even easier for people to personalize their gift-giving and help more families experience the magic of the holidays through USPS Operation Santa.”

Gary Haas, e-commerce vice president of Toys“R”Us, echoed Holman’s enthusiasm. “We are thrilled to be partnering with USPS Operation Santa to empower more letter adopters this holiday season. By simplifying the adoption process and offering a curated selection of gifts, we are making it easier for individuals and families to spread joy to children in need and make their holiday dreams come true. Together, we’re creating magical moments that will resonate for years to come.”

The USPS Operation Santa program has long been a cherished holiday tradition. Every year, children across the country write letters to Santa Claus, which are sent to his official address via the Postal Service. These letters are then anonymized and made available for adoption on the program’s website, USPSOperationSanta.com. From there, generous individuals, families, and organizations can choose one or more letters to adopt, purchasing and sending gifts to fulfill the holiday wishes of the children who wrote them.

This year, USPS has introduced a new shipping option as part of the program. Adopters can now send their gifts using USPS Ground Advantage, a service that offers reliable and affordable shipping across the U.S., with delivery times ranging from two to five business days. This option is expected to streamline the gift delivery process and provide greater convenience for letter adopters.

The partnership between USPS and Toys“R”Us is not the only exciting development for Operation Santa this year. The program will also be featured in the upcoming season of Hulu’s original docuseries, Dear Santa. The new season, debuting on November 24, will showcase real-life stories of children whose letters were answered, as well as the generous individuals and families who adopted those letters.

With a century of history behind it, USPS Operation Santa continues to be a source of hope and joy for families in need during the holiday season. The collaboration with Toys“R”Us is expected to enhance the program’s reach and accessibility, allowing even more people to take part in spreading holiday cheer.

The USPSOperationSanta.com website provides detailed information on how to participate in the program, including step-by-step instructions for adopting a letter and purchasing gifts. Whether through adopting a letter, donating time, or spreading the word, individuals across the country have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and families during the 2024 holiday season.
