Jeff Garner, the Director of Public Works for the town, passed away this week at the age of 61, leaving a lasting legacy after nearly four decades of service. Garner, who began his career with the department in an entry-level position, rose through the ranks over 39 years to become a vital leader in the town’s operations.

His colleagues remember him as more than just an employee; to them, he was family. Jeff’s infectious sense of humor, positive outlook on life, and calm demeanor made him a joy to be around.

Garner was known for his deep love of his family, often describing them as the center of his world. He balanced his demanding career with a passion for bowling, rooting for the Baltimore Ravens, and supporting the New York Yankees, bringing joy and camaraderie to those around him.

Garner’s passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the community, and he will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege to work with him.

“Rest in peace, Jeff. You’ll always remain a part of our town’s legacy,” read a message shared by the town on its official platforms.
