On October 22, an altercation between two students at Matthew Henson Middle School escalated into a physical confrontation, leading to the involvement of a third student. According to school officials, the situation was swiftly brought under control by a school administrator who intervened and separated the students. The incident unfolded after an argument between two students turned into a fight, drawing in another student who was with one of the involved parties.

One of the students involved reported injuries following the fight and was seen by the school nurse for evaluation. The student was later released into the care of their parents. School officials confirmed that none of the injuries were serious.

The school resource officer was notified of the incident and initiated an investigation. Following discussions with the parents of the students involved, it was determined that no criminal charges would be filed. Instead, the three students will face disciplinary actions in accordance with the Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) Code of Conduct.

School officials have not disclosed the specific nature of the disciplinary measures but emphasized that they will align with CCPS policies regarding physical altercations on school grounds.
