LA PLATA, Md. — The University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center (UM Charles Regional), a part of the University of Maryland Medical System, has announced the promotion of Evalyne Bryant-Ward, CAPPM, MBA, DBA, to the role of Vice President of Ambulatory Services. Bryant-Ward’s appointment follows a decade of demonstrated leadership and strategic management within the organization, particularly in expanding access to care for the local community.
Bryant-Ward joined UM Charles Regional in 2014 as director of operations for the UM Charles Regional Medical Group. This network of outpatient health care practices, which spans across Charles County, provides comprehensive care to area residents. In her new role, Bryant-Ward will continue overseeing these medical group practices while expanding her responsibilities to include additional ambulatory services at the hospital.
“Evalyne’s ability to navigate complex challenges and foster collaboration among teams has contributed to our organization’s remarkable growth and success,” said Noel Cervino, President and CEO of UM Charles Regional Medical Center. “We are confident that her expertise and passion will lead our ambulatory services to new heights.”
Bryant-Ward’s career with UM Charles Regional has been marked by several key accomplishments, including the expansion of service lines that have improved access to medical care in the region. Her focus on patient care, operational efficiency, and financial performance has been crucial in positioning the medical center as a leader in community health services.
“I look forward to continue expanding health care services both at our community practices and within the hospital to remove barriers to accessing care,” said Bryant-Ward. “I remain committed to adding new service lines to improve access for more of our residents with quality, comprehensive care, and health care close to home.”
Bryant-Ward’s contributions to the community extend beyond her role at UM Charles Regional. She serves on the La Plata Town Council and is actively involved with various community organizations. These include her role as an advisory board member for the University of Maryland at Southern Maryland, an advisory board member at LifePoint Church, and liaison to the Planning Commission for the Town of La Plata. Additionally, she holds leadership positions in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and co-chairs the Value Plan Workgroup for the Maryland Health Benefits Exchange. She also serves as an honorary commander at Joint Base Andrews.
Bryant-Ward’s broad involvement in local and regional initiatives reflects her dedication to the community and her vision for improving health care accessibility. Her new appointment is seen as a strategic move by the medical center to continue its growth in the region and expand services for its patient population.
UM Charles Regional Medical Center has been a cornerstone of health care in Charles County for years, and Bryant-Ward’s promotion is expected to further the hospital’s mission to provide comprehensive care to the community. Under her leadership, the hospital’s ambulatory services will aim to address the evolving health care needs of the area, offering more specialized services and improving access to critical care.
As Vice President of Ambulatory Services, Bryant-Ward is poised to lead UM Charles Regional Medical Center in its ongoing efforts to meet the needs of the community through innovative health care solutions and service expansions. With her extensive experience and commitment to patient care, her leadership is expected to continue driving the success of the medical center’s outpatient practices and broader ambulatory services.
