The Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) announced that over two million residents have registered for myMVA online accounts, offering streamlined access to driver and vehicle services. With nearly five million Marylanders holding a driver’s license or state ID, the program continues to expand its reach and efficiency.
Launched in late 2021 as part of the Customer Connect modernization project, myMVA has completed more than 12 million transactions online, reducing the need for in-person branch visits. Common services include license renewals, vehicle registration updates, address changes, and emission inspection verifications.

Enhancing Access and Convenience
Motor Vehicle Administrator Chrissy Nizer praised the platform’s accessibility and customer-focused features, stating, “We continue to encourage all Maryland drivers to sign up for their myMVA account which gives you 24/7 access to all of your MVA business in one account from the convenience of your own home or office. I want to thank the many talented employees who work hard daily and are passionate about delivering premier services to our customers.”
The service supports over 60 transactions and integrates ContactMVA, providing a secure communication channel for users.
Recognized for Excellence
The myMVA platform has gained national and international recognition. In 2023, the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) commended its user-friendly design and accuracy. The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) also honored it as a model for other jurisdictions.
Expanding Features and Outreach
The platform recently added a Google Single Sign-On feature, enhancing security and convenience for users by allowing them to log in with existing Google credentials.
To assist residents in signing up, MDOT MVA hosted an informational session on Thursday at multiple branch locations, including Glen Burnie, Bel Air, Frederick, and Beltsville. Additional sessions are scheduled for early 2025, with a focus on assisting older residents.

- Cynthia Simmons noted, “That’s going to be very useful in the near future, especially when it’s time to renew licenses, registration…”
