The Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) and multiple agencies are conducting an extensive search for Kevin Gavin, a 65-year-old man from Timonium, who has been reported missing after a boating trip near Elliott Island.

Gavin was last seen operating a 16-foot green Sea Nymph jon boat on the morning of December 8, 2024. The search intensified after his vessel was discovered two days later, on December 10, in the waters of Fishing Bay, a nearby area in Dorchester County.

Gavin is described as a Caucasian male with short gray hair. Authorities are urging anyone who may have information about his whereabouts to contact NRP at 410-260-8888.

Efforts to locate Gavin include aerial searches, water patrols, and assistance from various allied agencies. The area where the boat was found is being thoroughly examined as authorities hope to uncover additional clues.

This incident highlights the dangers of boating, especially in winter months, and serves as a reminder for all boaters to prioritize safety and share their travel plans with others.
