WASHINGTON, —The United States Postal Service (USPS) has announced a fresh selection of stamp designs for 2025, showcasing a blend of cultural celebrations, historical landmarks, and space exploration. The partial list includes several unique subjects, with additional releases expected in the coming months. USPS also revealed release dates and locations for first-day-of-issue events through March.

Celebrating Heritage and Exploration

Powwows: Celebrating Native American Culture

The Powwows stamps spotlight Native American social and ceremonial gatherings, featuring four dancers painted by Cochiti Pueblo artist Mateo Romero. Brightly colored backgrounds emphasize the movement and traditional regalia, reflecting the Postal Service’s commitment to honoring Indigenous culture.

Spiral Galaxy (Priority Mail)

NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope provides a stunning image of a spiral galaxy 32 million light-years away. The stamp highlights advancements in space exploration and contributes to the study of star formation and the universe’s origins.

Star Cluster (Priority Mail Express)

Another celestial image from the Webb Telescope depicts a star cluster 1,000 light-years from Earth, surrounded by brown dwarfs—objects larger than most planets but too small to be stars.

Freshwater Fishing Lures

Recreational fishing takes center stage with stamps featuring five iconic fishing lures. Designed by Sarah Cramer Shields, these vibrant photographs celebrate the creativity behind lure designs and their popularity among America’s 55 million anglers.

Battlefields of the American Revolution

Commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Revolutionary War, these stamps feature watercolor depictions of five pivotal battles, paired with photographs of the sites. The designs mark turning points in the fight for independence and encourage reflection on America’s history.
