PATUXENT RIVER NAVAL AIR STATION, MD – Effective immediately, NAS Patuxent River has suspended its Trusted Traveler program and implemented mandatory 100% ID checks at all base entry points. The move comes under direction from U.S. Naval Forces Northern Command and is aimed at bolstering base security.

Passengers entering the base must present valid identification for access. Individuals without a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card or a DBIDS Pass/Credential are required to provide a REAL ID-compliant form of identification, as detailed by the Department of Homeland Security (REAL ID Information). Visitors must also comply with NAS Patuxent River’s Access Control Instruction regarding escorting procedures.

Gate Delays Expected

The enhanced security measures will likely increase wait times at base gates. Drivers and passengers are encouraged to allow extra time for entry and to follow instructions from security personnel.

Increased Security Presence

Personnel and residents on the installation should expect to see more police activity, with NAS Patuxent River Security personnel conducting additional patrols to enforce the updated access policies.

The new measures reflect a proactive approach to maintaining the safety and security of the base and its community.
