Lexington Park, MD – The St. Mary’s County Library is offering an innovative opportunity for local businesses to expand their reach and connect with the community through its new Perks Partners program. This initiative aims to boost the visibility of participating businesses while providing added benefits to Library cardholders.

Under the program, businesses partner with the Library to offer a 10% discount on their products or services to anyone presenting a Library card, whether physical or digital. In return, the Library will promote participating businesses through its extensive outreach network, which includes social media platforms, in-library messaging, and email newsletters.

“Our combined monthly reach within our community is over 80,000, including email, social media, and website visitors,” said Library Director Michael Blackwell. “We believe this program will strengthen communication, helping businesses grow and offering new perks to our Library users.”

The program is designed to provide businesses with significant promotional opportunities while encouraging Library cardholders to shop locally. Participating businesses will receive advertising exposure across the Library’s platforms, including email newsletters, social media posts, and in-library materials. Businesses will also be included on an information card provided to all new Library cardholders and recognized on the Library’s website as valued Perks Partners. Meanwhile, cardholders will enjoy a 10% discount on goods and services offered by Perks Partners, fostering a deeper connection between businesses and their community.

Businesses interested in joining the program can sign up online by visiting the Perks Partners page on the St. Mary’s County Library website at stmalib.org. Once the sign-up process is complete, a Library staff member will personally deliver a window decal identifying the business as a participating Perks Partner.

As part of the partnership, businesses agree to offer a 10% discount to all St. Mary’s County Library cardholders on products or services, unless exclusions are specified during registration. Businesses are also asked to display a St. Mary’s County Library Perks Partner decal on a prominent window or door at their location.

This collaboration provides businesses with a unique avenue to market their services while reinforcing the Library’s mission to foster community engagement and lifelong learning.

The Perks Partners program aligns with the Library’s goal of strengthening local connections and supporting the community it serves. By bridging the gap between businesses and Library patrons, the program encourages residents to explore what St. Mary’s County has to offer while saving money and supporting local enterprises.

“This program highlights the incredible resources available in our community,” said Blackwell. “It’s about creating a cycle of support where businesses, Library users, and the Library itself all benefit.”

Businesses ready to take advantage of this unique opportunity can visit the Library’s Perks Partners webpage at stmalib.org for more information and to complete the online registration. Don’t miss out on the chance to connect with thousands of community members and grow your business through this innovative partnership.
