Three Anne Arundel County Public Schools students have been selected to perform in the 2025 Eastern Division Honor Music Ensembles, an elite opportunity that brings together some of the most talented musicians and vocalists from across the East Coast.

The honor ensembles are organized biennially by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) and feature students chosen through a highly competitive selection process. More than 2,000 students from across the Northeast submitted applications for the 2025 ensembles, making the achievement especially significant.

The Anne Arundel County students selected are:

  • Cade Long, Broadneck High School Apex Arts, Commercial Band
  • Hadley Dodson, Broadneck High School Apex Arts, Mixed Chorus
  • Citlalli Garcia-Ramirez, Meade High School, Mixed Chorus

Maryland is only given 5 percent of the student allocations for the Eastern Division Honor Ensembles, making it a significant accomplishment for Anne Arundel County to have three students chosen. Jessica Valadie, AACPS Coordinator of Music, praised their efforts, saying, “We couldn’t be prouder of the hard work and dedication each one of these students has shown in order to achieve this prestigious accomplishment.”

The selected students will travel to Hartford, Connecticut, where they will rehearse from April 24 to April 27, 2025. Their performances will take place at The Bushnell Performing Arts Center on April 26 and April 27, 2025. The concerts will be open to the public.
