Fans of Paul McCartney and The Beatles were treated to an unforgettable night as The McCartney Experience made its Southern Maryland debut at The Rex on February 8, 2025. The tribute show, led by Croom, Maryland native Jed Duvall, brought McCartney’s legendary catalog to life in a performance that captivated the audience from start to finish.
Duvall, widely recognized as one of the most authentic Paul McCartney tribute performers, delivered a stunning recreation of the iconic musician’s sound and style. His resemblance to McCartney, combined with his mastery of the left-handed playing technique despite being naturally right-handed, added to the show’s authenticity. His meticulous attention to detail, along with his band’s dedication to faithfully replicating McCartney’s music, resulted in a performance that drew high praise from the crowd.

The show at The Rex featured a carefully curated setlist spanning McCartney’s career, from his early Beatles hits to his work with Wings and his solo catalog. Fans sang along to timeless classics like “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “I Saw Her Standing There,” and “And I Love Her,” while Wings favorites such as “Silly Love Songs” and “Listen to What the Man Said” had the audience swaying. The band also delivered a standout performance of “No More Lonely Nights” from the Give My Regards to Broad Street soundtrack, a song McCartney himself has never performed live.
Reflecting on the performance, Duvall expressed his appreciation for bringing his show to Southern Maryland. “After playing halfway around the world, it was incredible to perform for a hometown audience. The energy in the room was amazing, and we couldn’t have asked for a better crowd.”
Unlike large-scale McCartney or Beatles tribute productions, The McCartney Experience offers a more intimate and personal connection to the music. Duvall’s goal is to give fans a concert experience that brings them closer to McCartney’s artistry.
“Like many, I’ve been to McCartney concerts and found myself watching him on a screen from far away,” Duvall said. “What we do is different. We want the audience to feel like they’re experiencing Paul’s music up close, in a way that feels personal and genuine.”
Duvall, a lifelong McCartney fan, has earned recognition for his ability to capture the essence of McCartney’s voice and stage presence. His band, composed of seasoned musicians, brings precision and passion to every performance. Publications such as Asbury Park Vibes have lauded The McCartney Experience for its authenticity, calling Duvall’s portrayal “remarkably close to the real deal.”
With their debut in Southern Maryland now in the books, The McCartney Experience has left a lasting impression on local fans. Whether reliving the magic of The Beatles, revisiting the soaring melodies of Wings, or celebrating McCartney’s enduring solo career, the audience at The Rex was treated to a night filled with music that continues to inspire generations.
