A St. Mary’s County truck driver has claimed the first $50,000 second-tier prize in the newly released Bonus Bingo X20 2nd Edition scratch-off game, which launched just two weeks ago.
The Southern Maryland man, who enjoys playing Maryland Lottery scratch-offs, said he regularly chooses bingo- and crossword-themed games. When he saw the latest edition of the Bonus Bingo X20 ticket, he was eager to try it. The $20 game features an extended-play format, giving players the chance to win on eight separate bingo cards.
He has a long-standing habit of purchasing scratch-offs and waiting until he gets home to play them. One night, he sat down with his tickets and noticed that one of his bingo cards appeared to have multiple matches. Since it was late, and he was unsure if he had won, he decided to scan the ticket using the Maryland Lottery app. The scan confirmed that he had won $50,000.
“I was shocked, and I was very happy,” he said.
The St. Mary’s County resident purchased the winning ticket at Food Lion, located at 40955 Merchant Lane in Leonardtown. He plans to use his prize money to help his daughter.
More Big Prizes Still Available
The Bonus Bingo X20 2nd Edition game officially went on sale on February 10 and still offers multiple chances to win significant prizes. While this St. Mary’s County man was the first player to claim a $50,000 prize, six additional second-tier prizes remain unclaimed.
Additionally, all five of the game’s $500,000 top prizes are still available. The game also has 43 of the 45 $10,000 prizes remaining, as well as thousands of smaller prizes ranging from $20 to $5,000.
Maryland Lottery officials encourage players to check their tickets carefully and play responsibly. Smaller prizes can be redeemed at Maryland Lottery retailers, while larger prizes like this $50,000 win must be claimed at a Lottery Customer Resource Center.
Growing Lottery Success in Southern Maryland
This win adds to a growing trend of Maryland Lottery success in Southern Maryland, where several players have recently claimed significant prizes. The Maryland Lottery regularly updates its list of unclaimed prizes, reminding players to check their tickets and not miss out on potential winnings.
As for the St. Mary’s County winner, he said he remains grateful for the unexpected prize and plans to continue playing his favorite Maryland Lottery scratch-offs.
