Chris Palombi, head coach of the St. Mary’s Ryken High School boys ice hockey team, has been named the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) Coach of the Year. The recognition, awarded by his coaching peers, highlights his leadership and the team’s strong performance throughout the season.
Palombi, who has now earned this honor multiple times, credited his players for their dedication and relentless effort. He emphasized the importance of continuous improvement, stating that he challenged his team to be “1% better every day,” a mindset that propelled them beyond expectations.
