ANNAPOLIS, Md. — International Delight, a popular coffee creamer brand under Danone US, LLC, has recalled 75,054 bottles of two flavors—Cinnabon Classic Cinnamon Roll and Hazelnut—due to spoilage issues and associated illness complaints, as announced by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The recall, initiated on February 21, 2025, affects products distributed across 31 states, including Maryland, and was classified as a Class II risk by the FDA on March 13, 2025. This classification indicates a low probability of serious health consequences but a potential for temporary or medically reversible effects, such as nausea or digestive discomfort.

The recalled creamers, sold in 32-ounce (1-quart) bottles, are identified by the following details: Cinnabon Classic Cinnamon Roll Creamer (UPC 0 41271 01993 3) with a best-by date of July 3, 2025, and Hazelnut Creamer (UPC 0 41271 02565 2) with a best-by date of July 2, 2025. Both products bear the plant code 51-4114 R-S. Danone issued the voluntary recall after receiving consumer complaints about spoilage, which manifested as a texture issue, and reports of illness linked to the products. While Danone emphasized that testing confirmed no food safety issue, the recall was enacted “out of an abundance of caution” to address quality concerns.
The affected products were shipped to retail locations in 31 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Maryland residents, particularly in counties like Anne Arundel and Charles, where large retail chains are prevalent, are urged to check their refrigerators for the recalled creamers. Consumers experiencing symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea, or vomiting after consumption should consult a healthcare provider and are advised to discard the product or return it for a refund. This recall adds to a troubling trend of food safety issues in 2025, following a separate October 2024 recall of International Delight’s Home Alone Peppermint Mocha Zero Sugar creamer for mislabeling in 13 states, including some overlap with the current recall (e.g., Arkansas, Georgia, and Tennessee). The earlier recall involved 10,794 bottles mislabeled as “zero sugar” despite containing sugar, posing risks for those managing diabetes—a Class II recall with no reported illnesses.
The current recall, however, directly involves spoilage, raising questions about Danone’s quality control processes. The FDA noted a record 740 food and beverage recalls in 2024, up from 313 in 2023, driven by stricter regulations and improved detection, but also highlighting systemic challenges in food production, especially for perishable dairy products like creamers.
