LEONARDTOWN, Md. — Senior Aiden Doyle of St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s lacrosse team was named United East Conference Offensive Player of the Week on March 17, 2025, the league office announced. The Annapolis native and Broadneck High School alum scored 14 goals across two victories, marking his fourth career weekly award and the second for a Seahawk this season. Sophomore Declan Horton claimed the first on February 17.

Doyle, a 6-5 attackman, powered St. Mary’s to a 2-0 week. On March 12, he notched a season-high eight points—six goals and two assists—plus a career-best five ground balls and one caused turnover in a 26-10 road win over Messiah University. Three days later, he matched that eight-point peak with a career-high eight goals and tied his personal best of two caused turnovers in a 17-7 triumph against Vassar College. His standout performances lifted the Seahawks’ record to 5-3.

The senior leads the United East with 29 goals, ranks second with 35 points, and ties for seventh with six assists. “Aiden’s ability to dominate offensively has been key for us,” said a team spokesperson, reflecting on his impact. Doyle joins Horton as the only St. Mary’s players recognized this season, following Penn College’s Elliot Dotson and AJ Dotson, who swept the award in late February and early March.

St. Mary’s College, located in St. Mary’s City, fields a competitive lacrosse program in the United East Conference, which spans Maryland, Pennsylvania, and beyond, per the league’s website. The Seahawks’ next test comes March 22, when they host Penn College (5-2) at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium for a 1 p.m. United East opener. The game doubles as a Gold Rush and Military Appreciation event, drawing fans to the historic campus along the St. Mary’s River.

Doyle’s accolades build on a strong lacrosse tradition at St. Mary’s, a public honors college with about 1,600 students, according to its official site. His performance mirrors trends in the region, where lacrosse thrives—Maryland reported over 20,000 youth players in 2023, per USA Lacrosse data. As conference play begins, Doyle’s scoring prowess positions the Seahawks for a competitive run.
