
CLINTON, Md. — MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center proudly announced the addition of Stacey T. Martindale, MD, MBA, FACS, to its surgical team on March 24, 2025. A fellowship-trained general surgeon, Dr. Martindale specializes in minimally invasive and robotic procedures, including abdominal surgery, hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, lipoma and cyst excisions, bowel resection, appendectomy, and laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Her arrival bolsters the hospital’s capacity to serve Southern Maryland with advanced surgical care.
Dr. Martindale joins MedStar from Reston Hospital Center in Reston, Virginia, where she was Trauma ICU Director and a trauma surgeon. She earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ)/New Jersey Medical School, completing an internal medicine residency there. Her training continued with a general surgery residency at Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York and a surgical critical care fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. Certified by the American Board of Surgery in both general surgery and surgical critical care, she brings extensive expertise to Clinton.
