Our Spotlight on the Arts for March 2025 shines brightly on ceramic artist and small business owner Jasmine Sade Moore!
How long have you been involved with pottery?
I have been involved with pottery coming up for two years. I made my first pot on May 17th, 2023.
What inspired you to open ELEMNT Ceramics?

When I first took a pottery class, it was at the College of Southern Maryland. The open community of potters of all different backgrounds and races coming together for one common love of clay really made me feel at home. Much like when I was in the service, the people you serve with coming together for one common goal has been home for me.
What offerings does ELEMNT have?
ELEMNT offers beginner classes, workshops, plus memberships for the more serious hobby potter to come and work in the studio. We also offer private and community events.
Do you have a favorite aspect of your art form?
My favorite aspect of my art form is when the clay is in the raw stage, with no glazing after two firings. I love to make big vases, and Greek pottery is my favorite to create. I love taking an ancient shape and adding a modern touch to it.

What are your other interests outside of ceramics?
I most enjoy spending time on hikes with my husband and three dogs. I also love interior design, so I usually make my vases to match the elements of my home.
Is there anything else you would like to share with us?
Yes, I am a veteran of 8 years, having served in the United States Air Force, and I did alot of healing through clay. I would love to work with more veterans and help those needing an escape.
