SOLOMONS, Md. — Rising country-pop artist Dasha will perform as a special guest with headliner Jordan Davis at the PNC Waterside Pavilion at Calvert Marine Museum on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 7 p.m. The concert, part of the venue’s Waterside Music Series, is expected to draw fans eager to hear Dasha’s viral hit “Austin” and Davis’s chart-topping country anthems.

Dasha, a 24-year-old singer-songwriter from San Luis Obispo, California, has gained attention for her blend of country storytelling and pop melodies. Her breakout single, “Austin,” sparked a viral TikTok line dance that resonated globally. Reflecting on the phenomenon, she said, “It was wild. Like, I’ve danced my whole life, I was classically trained in ballet and I always dreamed of people dancing to my music. So when I made the line dance, it wasn’t some big marketing plan, it was just something that I wanted to see people dance to in honky tonks. And then to see it go crazy and have people all over the world learning it? That part still doesn’t feel real.”

Her music draws from diverse influences, including country, folk, and early 2000s pop, which she describes as a natural extension of her identity: “I’m not trying to fit into a box. I’m just writing songs that feel real to me.”

The artist’s journey began at 13 when she released her first song with a small budget from her father. Looking back, she advised her younger self, “Hold onto what matters and just keep going, no matter how messy or uncertain it feels. There were so many moments I felt like I was stuck or not ‘enough,’ but every little step added up.” Despite facing criticism from some country purists, Dasha remains resilient, noting, “People have come for my sound, the way I dress, the way I perform—pretty much everything. At first, it was hard to handle. But I’m proud of what I’m doing. I know who I am and the hate motivates me.”

Her performance at the 2024 CMT Awards in Austin, Texas, marked a milestone. “We got the call from CMT less than two weeks before the show. It was a sprint. Rehearsals, choreography, wardrobe, camera blocking—it was chaos, but the best kind,” she said, adding that the adrenaline of the moment was unexpected. At the Country Calling 2024 festival, she shared the stage with artists like Jelly Roll, whom she praised for his support: “Jelly Roll especially has just been so kind—he’s been rooting for me in ways I’ll never forget.”

Jordan Davis, known for hits like “Buy Dirt” and “Next Thing You Know,” headlines the event, bringing his signature modern country sound. The PNC Waterside Pavilion, with a capacity of 6,500, offers an open-air experience with no covered seating, hosting concerts rain or shine. The venue has welcomed acts like Bob Dylan and The Beach Boys in past years. Concertgoers can enjoy a food court with vendors serving American, BBQ, and seafood options, alongside beverage stands offering soda, beer, wine, and water. Note that lawn chairs are not permitted, and beverage stands are cash-only, with ATMs available on-site.

The Waterside Music Series supports the museum’s educational programs, raising funds to teach over 20,000 children annually about maritime history and local culture. Fans are encouraged to arrive early, as gates typically open 90 minutes to two hours before showtime.
