The incident, which took place in the 4600 block of Old Crain Highway, has prompted authorities to seek public assistance as they work to determine the cause of the crash.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. on April 14, officers responded to reports of a collision involving two vehicles. According to the preliminary investigation, the driver of the second vehicle crossed the double yellow line and struck Butler’s vehicle head-on in the eastbound lanes. Butler was transported to a hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries on April 15. The driver of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries and was also hospitalized.
