BALTIMORE — The Daily Record has recognized Shellee Stine, RN, and Teri White, RN, of University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center as 2025 Health Care Heroes, announced on April 29, 2025. Stine, coordinator of clinical programs, was honored as a Nurse of the Year. In contrast, White, a transition nurse navigator, received a Community Outreach award for their impactful contributions to Maryland’s health care landscape.

The Health Care Heroes Awards, selected by The Daily Record’s publisher and editors, celebrate individuals and organizations that enhance healthcare quality in Maryland, a national leader in medical research and development. Categories include Lifetime Achievement, Advancements and Innovation, Community Outreach, Mental Health Hero, Nurse of the Year, Nurse Practitioner of the Year, Physician of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Workplace Wellness Program of the Year.

Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, managing director of BridgeTower Media/The Daily Record, praised the honorees, stating, “The 2025 Health Care Heroes go above and beyond to improve the quality of health care in Maryland. They work tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of others and demonstrate strong empathy, compassion and listening skills.” She added, “The accomplishments of this year’s honorees are incredibly noteworthy, and we at The Daily Record are honored to celebrate these outstanding health care leaders.”

Stine’s role as coordinator of clinical programs involves overseeing patient care initiatives, ensuring high standards at UM Charles Regional Medical Center. White, as a transition nurse navigator, supports patients as they move between care settings, which strengthens community health outcomes. Their work exemplifies Maryland’s commitment to innovative and compassionate health care.

The honorees will be celebrated on June 20, 2025, through an online video at, shared across The Daily Record’s social media and email alerts, reaching over 42,000 business and legal professionals. A special magazine profiling the winners will be inserted into the June 20 issue of The Daily Record and available online. The Maryland Hospital Association is the Event Partner, with Mt.
