GREAT MILLS, Md. — Three men were shot in a vehicle in Great Mills early Saturday, May 3, 2025, prompting an ongoing investigation by the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. near Chancellors Run Road and Pegg Road, where deputies on patrol heard gunfire and responded immediately.

Deputies found a vehicle carrying four adult males that bullets had struck. Three of the occupants sustained gunshot wounds. Two victims were airlifted to a regional hospital and are in stable condition, while the third declined medical treatment. The fourth occupant was unharmed. The suspect fled the scene before deputies arrived, and no arrests have been reported.

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division has taken over the case. Detectives are working to identify the suspect and determine the circumstances of the shooting. Authorities have not released details about a possible motive or whether the attack was targeted.
