Budds Creek, MD, 5/2/25- Welcome Maryland’s Chuck Bowie scored his first win of the season in last Friday night’s 20-lap Crate Late Model feature at Potomac Speedway. The win for Bowie, steering his Rosie Bowie-owned Rocket Chassis No.14C, would be the former track champion’s 6th career division feature win.
The top six redraw found Bowie on the pole for the event’s start, and he made the most of his opportunity as he would eventually lead the distance. Former Late Model champ and now converted Crate Late Model racer Roy Deese Jr came from his 5th starting spot and gave chase, but would have to settle for runner-up money as Bowie powered to the win. “We finally found the speed we were looking for, but the car is so tight it was pretty hard to drive, but I was able to hold on,” Bowie stated in victory lane. “I have to thank my wife Rosie, as we were pretty banged up after last week, and she worked really hard to get this thing back together.” Defending track champion Ben Scott came home third, Jarrett Edwards took fourth with 7th starting Megan Emory completing the top five. Heats went to Bowie and Greg Carrico.

Wyatt Hanson scored his second win in a row of the young 2025 season with his win in the 15-lap Street Stock feature. After his 11th career win, Scotty Nelson, Deuce Wright, Jonny Oliver, and Ricky Edmonds followed Hanson. Heats went to Oliver and Nelson.
The race of the night was the 15-lap Hobby Stock feature that saw Kayce Gordon take the checkered flag for her first career Potomac feature win. Unfortunately, her car failed a post race inspection, handing the win to Mason Hanson. Tommy Dennison posted a career-best runner-up finish, followed by Richie Gibson, 7th starting Colin Long, and 12th starting Billy Crouse. Heats went to Mason Hanson and Richie Gibson.

Greg Mattingly also became a repeat winner as he scored his second win in as many attempts in the 15-lap Strictly Stock main for his 27th career division win. Larry Fuchs, defending track champion Nabil Guffey, Johnny Hardesty, and 10th starting Shawn Howsare trailed at the finish. Heats went to Guffey and Mattingly.
Allen Griffith scored his first win of the season in the 15-lap U Car contest. Opening day winner and defending track champion Faith Lacey took second, Brooke Bowles, Richard Inscoe, and 9th starting Ryan Martin rounded out the top five. The heats went to Lacey and Travis Dye.
