The Kitten Shower, organized by the Charles County Animal Care Center, encourages attendees to bring donations to aid animals at the shelter. Entry to the kitten room, typically at regular weekend rates, is available by appointment only at half price during the event. Feline Felons Cat Cafe, which opened in September 2023, houses up to 20 adult cats and eight kittens, all from local municipal shelters like the Charles County Animal Care Center.
