BRYANS ROAD, Md. — A 41-year-old man died late Monday night after crashing his all-terrain vehicle (ATV) into a tree on Shiloh Church Road, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred around 11:28 p.m. on May 26, 2025, in the 2700 block of Shiloh Church Road, prompting a swift response from patrol officers.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver, identified as Nathan Ellsworth Proctor of Bryans Road, was operating an ATV when he collided with a tree. Officers arrived at the scene and provided first aid, but Proctor was later pronounced deceased. Authorities have not disclosed the cause of the crash, and the investigation remains active.

Complicating the investigation, officers discovered that an unknown individual removed the ATV from the scene before their arrival. The vehicle is believed to be a red YFZ 450 or a similar model.
